The agent collision index
24 October 2026, UTC
227 files written by two authors within an hour, in 1132 commits across 50 repositories.
24 October 2026, per repository
Method
- The repositories: the 50 public, non-fork GitHub repositories with the most commits whose message names a coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Devin, Copilot, Jules), in a sample of GitHub's commit search: the newest 200 such commits per agent in every six hours of the last 7 days. The list is refreshed weekly.
- Each day, each repository's default branch is read from git, without file contents, and every whole UTC day is counted on its own.
- A collision is a file two different authors committed within one hour of each other: the rule of the git log grader, which runs the same code.
- A repository that cannot be read that day (too big, gone, private) is "unknown", never 0, and stays out of the total.
- Only dates, repository names and counts are kept: no file, commit message or author. A day, once written, is never changed.
Cite it as: memento, the agent collision index, https://overflow.games/memento/index/, with the date of the day you quote.
