INSTRUCTION CARD 7 OF 8

How many Reels have I watched?

Instagram lets you scroll back through the Reels you watched, but it never gives you a number. Its export lists the posts and videos it showed you. Drop it here and this page counts them, on your own phone: the file is never uploaded.

Get the file from Instagram

  1. In Instagram, open your profile, the three lines, Accounts Center, Your information and permissions, Export your information.
  2. Tap Create export, pick your profile, then Export to device. Set Date range: All time (it starts on Last year) and Format: JSON (it starts on HTML). Redact, Sep 2026
  3. Meta says it can take up to 30 days; a small export comes sooner, and it waits 4 days under Available downloads. Drop the .zip above, as it is. On an iPhone, tap the box and pick it from Files.

The page reads the files Instagram calls posts_viewed and videos_watched and counts their entries: one entry, one post or Reel on your screen. How far back they go is Instagram's choice, so the page shows the first and last day the file holds. No file yet? Estimate your day in three dials.

What happens to your file

Nothing leaves your phone. The page opens the zip with your browser's own tools and keeps only the count, the first day and the last. We count that a file was counted and how many entries it held, never what you saw.

Count it from today

highscroll is a free Android app that counts every TikTok and Reel you swipe and turns the day into a high score with the distance your thumb ran. It has no internet permission and no account. You can send the day as a card, and whoever opens it adds their own score to the table.
